Eddie Murphy, best known for his legendary roles in films such as “Coming 2 America,” occupies two worlds in his most recent film: the wealthy royal kingdom of Zamunda and the common life he once yearns for in Queens, New York, which is reminiscent of a current rapper’s existence.

Murphy’s life altered as he rose to prominence on “Saturday Night Live,” where he launched a lucrative solo career in stand-up comedy and acting. Murphy grew up in a public housing project in Brooklyn, New York.
