Deal closed: Arsenal poised to commit £65M on striker Alexander Isak contract with Newcastle

Alexander Isak has voiced his opinions on his Newcastle future in relation to Arsenal connections.

With 25 goals overall, 21 of which came from the Premier League, the Sweden international had an outstanding season.

Several prominent teams in Europe, notably Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, which wants a striker for summer, have noticed his form in front of goal.

Though he is enjoying his time with the Magpies despite them missing out on European football, Isak claims has “no ideas” on his future.

Speaking with Swedish site Fotballskanalen, he said: “I had the best season in my career; that should not be undervalued; I am loving Newcastle.”

Arsenal have been linked with the Sweden international as they search for a new striker

Arsenal have been linked with the Sweden international as they search for a new striker’I love everything about the club; the fans, and the city.

‘It (my future) is not something I will speculate about, I have no thoughts on leaving. There has been no talk about it at the club and I have received no information that the could would have to sell me.’

Arsenal showed notable interest in Isak back in the January window of 2022 while he was at Sociedad, but they were unable to come to an understanding with the Spanish club.

Newcastle signed the striker a few months later, but he has stayed on Arsenal’s eye ever then.

April saw Newcastle manager Eddie Howe categorical they have no intention of selling Isak, the record signing for the club at £63million.

The head coach remarked, “He is an incredible talent; none connected with Newcastle would want to lose him.”

Arsenal’s interest in RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko, who leans north London, could inspire Newcastle supporters.
