Leny Yoro decided to join Manchester United due to the club’s decisive £52 million bid, rather than Real Madrid’s hesitancy

According to sources, Manchester United’s £52 million offer for Lille’s Leny Yoro has been approved by his club.

The 18-year-old defender has been one of United’s most recent targets at the position, but the club may still have to compete with other clubs for his services.

Erik ten Hag is interested in bolstering his side's defensive ranks during the transfer window

Erik ten Hag wants to enhance his team’s defensive ranks during the transfer window.

Erik ten Hag may still lose out on signing the player, as Real Madrid is thought to be his primary choice.

However, the Spanish giants, who unveiled record signing Kylian Mbappe on Tuesday morning, are unlikely to match United’s £42 million offer plus £10 million in add-ons.

The club are also tracking defenders including Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite to add to the side

Real Madrid is believed to be more interested in waiting until the 18-year-old becomes a free agent next summer, leading Lille to try to finalize United’s deal as soon as possible.

In addition to Yoro, Manchester United is interested in Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt during the summer transfer period.

The club is also looking to add defenders to its lineup, including Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite.

This summer window has already seen the club secure funds for future recruits by selling academy graduate Willy Kambwala to Villarreal and Mason Greenwood, whose £30 million move to Marseille has been agreed in principle.

United secured their first major signing at Old Trafford on Sunday, signing Netherlands international Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for £36.5 million.
