GOT THE BLUES. Chelsea fans said ‘I feel awful watching this’ when they see what Mount and Jorginho did following Arsenal’s triumph against Man Utd

Jorginho and Mason Mount of Chelsea reunited during Arsenal and Manchester United’s pre-season friendly in the United States.

And that triggered a tremendous sense of nostalgia among Blues fans, who took an emotional trip down memory lane.

Arsenal’s Jorginho and United’s Mount met on Saturday at SoFi Stadium in California as part of the two teams’ summer tour of the United States.

The two midfielders appeared cheerful as they chatted after Arsenal’s 2-1 triumph, which came shortly after Chelsea’s dismal 4-1 loss to Celtic.

Some Chelsea fans were saddened by this because they remembered winning trophies at Stamford Bridge, such as the Champions League and Fifa Club World Cup, before their unceremonious exits.

One admirer wrote, “I feel sad watching this for some reason.”

Mount, a Chelsea academy graduate, left the club in 2023 after 18 years, having scored 33 goals and assisted 35 times in 195 matches.

After feeling excluded from the ambitions of owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, the playmaker joined Premier League rivals United.

Mount told MUTV last year: “Several months ago, it became clear that I wasn’t in Chelsea’s plans moving forward.”

Jorginho joined Arsenal in January 2023 after five years at Chelsea, where he scored 29 goals and assisted eight times in 213 appearances.

The midfielder also left west London since he was no longer in the first team’s plans, but he was also won over by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

Jorginho told DAZN last year: “It’s one of the reasons [Arteta], surely. He called me and it was all very quick, we made the deal in less than 48 hours.

“I had spoken to Chelsea and I knew I was no longer part of their plans. I wanted to progress in my career and the Arsenal project suits me.

“Sometimes you must accept when you are out of a project and that things come to an end.”
